Get lost in the woods. Find your soul.

Yaarnagar Jungle Resort sits at the edge of Ratapani, with a river running through it and a forest all around. Built by heart, not by blueprints.

Our story

Yaarnagar was not built. It was born of a dream, by three brothers from a defence family who shaped every wall, beam and curve by hand.

No architects drew these rooms. They were made by people who understood the rhythm of the forest: mud walls, reclaimed timber, stone floors, and a fallen trunk that became the lounge sofa. Every corner carries their care, their devotion and the heartbeat of their dream.

The resort sits beside Ratapani Tiger Reserve and the legendary Ginnorgarh Fort. A monsoon-fed river flows right through the property, between dense forest and towering hills. Its name says the rest. Yaarnagar, yaaron ka nagar: a town for friends.

57thtiger reserve of India, and the 8th in Madhya Pradesh. Ratapani is at our gate.

The river

Wake to the songs of rivers.

In the monsoon the river roars and the forest turns green overnight. By winter it slows to a mirror for the trees. A footbridge carries you across, from the tents to the Riverdeck.

Mornings
Birdsong, mist on the water, tea on the deck.
Evenings
The sound of the current under a sky of whispered stars.

Stay

Where nature becomes your neighbour.

Canvas tents raised on wooden decks under the canopy. Open the flaps and the forest walks in with the light. Watch a tree dance when its new leaves shimmer in the breeze.

Dining

Earthy flavours by a flowing river.

At Yaarnagar, dining is about soul as much as taste. The Riverdeck Mahua Restaurant sits under a glass-and-timber canopy above the water, named for the mahua trees of these forests.

Bush lunch & dinner

When the table moves into the woods.

As the sun lowers and the forest turns gold, a long table is laid out under the trees. Rotis come off an open fire and everyone ends up lending a hand.

About the restaurant

Ratapani Tiger Reserve

Let your wilderness roar.

India's 57th tiger reserve begins at the Delawadi gate, a few steps from your tent. For every gypsy heart and unstoppable soul, the forest outside is enormous.

Bar under the Mahua tree

Here, every hour is happy.

The bar under the Mahua tree is where friends gather to reshape old memories. A game of snooker in the lounge, a drink on the deck, and a sunset that paints the forest orange.

Nightfall

Sleep under a sky of whispered stars.

The bonfire circle fills up, lights come on over the open-air lawn, and dinner stretches late. It is our venue for woodland celebrations: birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, and anything worth remembering for a lifetime.

On a night safari, you rarely see the animal first. You see its eyes, reflecting the torch back at you. Move the beam across the forest.

When to visit

Choose yours.

When monsoon arrives, the river roars loud. The forest turns green under rainy clouds.

The river is at its fullest and the waterfalls are thundering. Bring a raincoat and good shoes.

Our commitment

We are guests of the forest, too.

Every ancient tree, kept

Not one old tree was cut while building Yaarnagar. The resort was shaped around them, to protect the forest and its biodiversity.

Lighter on our feet

Cycling and electric vehicles are planned for getting around the property, to keep our carbon footprint small.

Built from the land

Mud, stone and wood, used the way this region has always built, for construction that belongs here.

Reserve

Be here. Just be.

Book a tent, plan a celebration under the trees, or come for a long lunch by the river. We will keep the fire going.
